Course Description:

This course is designed to help you become the best and brightest reader. We will work on fundamental reading skills to help develop you into the best reader and writer that you can be across the board in all of your English/Language Arts classes at BELIEVE.

Course Goals

• Students will be able to… Navigate the iLit system including all supports provided (e.g., search, library, routine cards, electronic journal/notebook).

• Students will be able to… make connections to the text they read independently from prior knowledge and experiences.
• Students will be able to… make meaningful connections in self-selected text.
• Students will be able to… develop their skills of language and use of English grammar both written and spoken.
• Students will be able to… engage in collaborative conversations over the course of the academic year.
