Latonya Turner
BOARD MEMBER
LaTonya Turner is the current associate director of the Academy for Teaching and Learning Leadership at Marian University. Her extensive 20-year experience in education includes teaching and counseling at the secondary and collegiate levels. Before her current position, Turner was the first African-American principal at Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory School. Turner holds a master of science degree in education from Indiana University and is a member of the academy’s first cohort. Turner has directed several task forces and chaired numerous committees.
ANDRE BENNIN
BOARD MEMBER
Andre Bennin is the current managing director for corporate development at Strada Education Network. Additionally, Bennin currently serves on several boards including BridgeEdu, BrightHive, Cell-Ed, and Kenzie Academy. He previously worked in the Office of Indiana Governor Eric J. Holcomb, managing the economic and workforce development and infrastructure portfolios and providing strategic direction to seven state agencies. He also helped spearhead the creation of the Next Level Fund. Bennin earned a bachelor’s degree and Juris Doctor from Brigham Young University.
MARQUES WHITMIRE
BOARD MEMBER
Marques Whitmire recently served as the managing director of finance and administration for Instruction Partners. Before this role, Whitmire served as director of special projects for finance at Indianapolis Public Schools. At IPS, he was responsible for moving the district to a system of student-based allocations/budgeting and school autonomy. Whitmire holds a master’s degree in educational leadership from his Residency at The Broad Center. He also has a master’s from University North Carolina at Charlotte and a degree in management from Florida State University.
TAYLOR HUGHES
BOARD MEMBER
Taylor Hughes currently works at the Indy Chamber on policy and civic engagement, connecting business, community, and governmental leaders for strategic civic initiatives. His work focuses especially on state and local advocacy, public health, sustainability, and policy research. Hughes earned a Bachelor of Arts in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics from Taylor University, and a Master of Science in International Relations from the University of Bristol.
