The BELIEVE Circle City High School Board exists as a governing system for BCC students and staff. The BCC board is made up of active members of the Indianapolis community and is dedicated to the academic, social, and emotional success of everyone within the BELIEVE community.

Latonya Turner

HIGHER EDUCATION, SCHOOL LEADERSHIP, COMMUNITY PARTNER

LaTonya Turner is the current associate director of the Academy for Teaching and Learning Leadership at Marian University. Her extensive 20-year experience in education includes teaching and counseling at the secondary and collegiate levels. Before her current position, Turner was the first African-American principal at Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory School. Turner holds a master of science degree in education from Indiana University and is a member of the academy’s first cohort. Turner has directed several task forces and chaired numerous committees.

ANDRE BENNIN

MANAGING DIRECTOR OF CORPORATE DEVELOPMENT

Andre Bennin is the current managing director for corporate development at Strada Education Network. Additionally, Bennin currently serves on several boards including BridgeEdu, BrightHive, Cell-Ed, and Kenzie Academy. He previously worked in the Office of Indiana Governor Eric J. Holcomb, managing the economic and workforce development and infrastructure portfolios and providing strategic direction to seven state agencies. He also helped spearhead the creation of the Next Level Fund. Bennin earned a bachelor’s degree and Juris Doctor from Brigham Young University.

COURTNEY CRAWLEY

HUMAN RESOURCES, COMMUNITY RELATIONS, COLLEGE MATRICULATION

Courtney Crawley Sr. currently works as a human resources specialist in associate relations at Subaru of Indiana Automotive, Inc. Before this, he was the Achievers director/college readiness specialist at the Avondale Meadows YMCA. In that role, he worked with Indianapolis Public Schools, Pike Township Schools, and other innovative Charter schools. Crawley is passionate about providing students with opportunities, partnering with college readiness programs such as the AVID program. Crawley graduated from Alabama A&M University with a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work.

CHRISTL GLIER

LEGAL, IMMIGRATION LAW

Christl Glier currently works as an Ice Miller Immigration partner in Indianapolis, with a focus on immigration law. Glier’s work includes obtaining employment authorization and lawful permanent residency in the U.S. for foreign national professionals, managers, executives, outstanding researchers, athletes, and religious workers. Glier graduated from Indiana University in 2001 with a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and earned her Juris Doctor from IU’s McKinney School of Law in 2004. She is licensed to practice law in the state of Indiana and the District of Columbia.

MARQUES WHITMIRE

BROAD RESIDENT, FINANCE, FORMER IPS EMPLOYEE

Marques Whitmire recently served as the managing director of finance and administration for Instruction Partners. Before this role, Whitmire served as director of special projects for finance at Indianapolis Public Schools. At IPS, he was responsible for moving the district to a system of student-based allocations/budgeting and school autonomy. Whitmire holds a master’s degree in educational leadership from his Residency at The Broad Center. He also has a master’s from University North Carolina at Charlotte and a degree in management from Florida State University.

TAYLOR HUGHES

MANAGER OF POLICY AND CIVIC ENGAGEMENT

Taylor Hughes currently works at the Indy Chamber on policy and civic engagement, connecting business, community, and governmental leaders for strategic civic initiatives. His work focuses especially on state and local advocacy, public health, sustainability, and policy research. Hughes earned a Bachelor of Arts in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics from Taylor University, and a Master of Science in International Relations from the University of Bristol.

JENNIFER FULK

FINANCE LEADER

Jennifer Fulk currently works at Eli Lilly and Company as a finance leader in the Bio-Medicines business. She has more than 20 years of professional experience across a wide range of industries, including pharma, animal health, and oil and gas. Fulk has held several financial leadership roles during her 13 years with Lilly, including as Chief Financial Officer for Eli Lilly’s affiliates in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, and as CFO for two different U.S. commercial businesses. She graduated from the Indiana University Kelley School of Business in 1998 and earned her MBA from Kelley in 2005.
